Security Guards are tasked with the protection of people, property, and assets by employing a range of preventative and reactive security measures.

Representative Duties For Job:

• Responsible for safeguarding the museum’s artifacts and the area where they are on display.
• Provide museum visitors accurate information pertaining to the MTHS facility with a professional and courteous attitude in person and on the phone. As team members who engage with the public, security personnel are expected to contribute to the welcoming and accommodating atmosphere the museum fosters to its guests.
• Patrolling and monitoring activities on the premises regularly
• Preventing unauthorized access, theft, or damage
• Responding to alarms and emergencies promptly
• Identifying potential security risks and reporting them
• Providing assistance to people on the premises
• Operating security systems and equipment such as CCTV
• Documenting incidents and writing reports
• Maintaining law and order in the area of responsibility
• Conducting security checks over a specified area
• Working closely with law enforcement agencies
• Ensuring that safety equipment, such as fire extinguishers or first-aid kits, are in place and ready for use.
• Ability to act calmly and authoritatively in emergency situations.
• Ability to interact well with museum guests.
• Ability to observe and report irregularities.
• Ability to take appropriate action in emergency situations.
• Ability to disseminate information in a courteous manner.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Minimum Physical/Mental Requirements

• Must be able to climb, crouch, pull, push, reach, stand, engage in repetitive motions including movements of the hands, wrists or fingers, move, touch including finger dexterity, communicate, hear including receiving detailed information orally or making fine discriminations in sound and sight including color, depth perception or clarity.
• Must be able to move and stand for several hours at a time.
  

Education And Experience For Job:

• High-school diploma.
• One-year (1) experience in security-related field.
• Other combination of education and experience may be substituted.
