Security Guard Jobs In Canada

This job with Commissionaires, a not-for-profit security company in Canada, offers part-time (with potential full-time) positions at various sites in Duncan and Chemainus. Security professionals are responsible for providing access control, conducting patrols, responding to emergencies, and maintaining detailed incident reports. The role demands a professional, customer-focused attitude, physical fitness, strong communication skills, and the ability to work independently. Shifts vary across days, evenings, and nights, and pay ranges from $20.50 to $21.53 per hour. Preference is given to candidates with a BC Security Worker’s License and Driver’s License. Job Responsibilities

  • Provide assistance and information to employees, visitors, and clients in a courteous and professional manner
  • Provide access control ensuring only authorized individuals enter restricted areas by verifying credentials
  • Conductfootspatrols to maintain visibility and cover all areas of the property
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergencies such as fire alarms, medical incidents, or security breaches; take appropriate actionand coordinate with emergency services if necessary

Qualifications And Skills

  • Positive attitude with a professional demenour to provide superior customer service
  • A valid BC Security Workers Licenseis an asset
  • A valid BC Driver’s License is an asset
  • Physically fit and able to perform patrol duties effectivelyin a range of weather conditions

Answer: Having a valid BC Security Worker’s License is an asset, but it may not be mandatory for application. Training and licensing support may be available for the right candidates.
