Located just one hour from Adelaide, Victor Harbor has so much to offer. The hub of the Fleurieu Peninsula with the famous Port Elliot Bakery located close by. This position will work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking general cleaning for the provision of high quality services. You will work in a safe and inclusive manner that reflects our Southern Cross Care Better for life model to provide person centred care and support.
Daily Duties In This Role Include But Are Not Limited To;
- dusting and polishing of furniture
- mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors
- cleaning bathrooms and toilets
- removal of rubbish
- Listening with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning
requests and reporting to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned - Working positively and collaboratively with other staff to provide person centred safe and effective cleaning services and supports
- Supporting and mentoring new housekeeping staff as well as assisting other cleaning staff as required
- Reporting any risks that have the potential to cause an accident or injury
Cleaner Jobs in Australia About You
- Previous cleaning experience in a commercial role
- Adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy
- The ability to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand
- Excellent time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time
- A good understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours
- A basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards as are applicable to the role
