Meta has unveiled its first significant update for WhatsApp in 2025, and it’s all about artificial intelligence (AI). According to a report by Wabetainfo, Meta is integrating AI into every aspect of the messaging app. The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android devices features an AI tab, where users can access various AI tools.
The AI tab will offer a range of features, including:
- Chatting with AI bots on various topics
- AI-generated stickers and images
- Meta’s AI search engine
This update aims to make AI more prominent, encouraging users to explore and utilize these tools. As a result, the Communities tab will be removed and merged with the Chats tab.
Additionally, Meta is working on customizable AI bots for WhatsApp, which promises to be more advanced than Instagram’s AI Studio. However, it remains to be seen how many users will develop their own custom AI bots.
Since this update is currently available only in the beta version, it’s unclear when it will be rolled out to all users.
